, an Argentinean UAS company, and the Israeli based Innocon have signed a MoU to work together on the development of new UAS solutions for Argentinean and the South American market.
The companies believe that the cooperation between Nostromo Defensa knowledge and experience with UAS development and manufacturing and Innocon’s technological advantage in UAS avionics and ground control systems, will enable them to offer the South American market cost effective, technological advanced UAS systems which meet the special needs and requirements of the this market.
Marcelo Martinez, Nostromo Defensa’s CEO, says: “We are happy to work together with Innocon, and believe that this will enable us to offer a genuine cost effective South American design with a unique technological advantage”. He adds, “Innocon’s unique avionics system has distinctive data analysis and control software which provides each UAS with capabilities and flight parameters that set it apart, and we are delighted to offer these advantages to the South American market.”
Moreover, Innocon’s combination of onboard and ground based computers control and manage all flight parameters including take off and landing constitute the backbone of the company’s unique UAS capabilities. The Naviator Flight Computer is responsible for all flight aspects including take off and landing. This core technology computer provides the UAS with capabilities that include: Short distance and highly accurate landing, self correction, optimized landing through data collection and processing during flight, 50 meter landing area requirement which is a quarter the distance required by competing UASs, landing capability on wide-ranging surfaces utilizing a variety of landing gear including wheels, skids, or parachute.
Nostromo Defensa SA is a technology based company which has been developing and producing high level aerospace technology for 9 years. Its main activity is the design and production of unmanned aerial vehicles for military, security and civil applications. All its activities are concentrated in its production center located in Alta Gracia, 40 km southwest of Córdoba city.
Since its inception in 2001, INNOCON Ltd. has been developing and manufacturing UAS ranging from micro-UAS weighing a mere 6 kg to 1000 kg full-size UAS, equipped with the company’s proprietary command and control systems. The company delivers either complete systems or major sub-systems. Combined and interoperable onboard and ground-based computers feature modular software, enabling unprecedented levels of flight, take-off and landing control capabilities.
These technological achievements offer clients the advantages of a cost effective, flexible and varied use of their own platforms. These advantages include the option to operate a small and economical UAS for missions normally associated with large and heavy UAS, the use of a particularly lightweight UAS for missions that demand flight altitudes and durations normally associated with much larger and heavier UAS, UAS take-off and landing capability on unpaved and uneven terrain, and superior UAS-to-payload weight ratios.
Company clients include leading defence companies Elbit Systems and BAE Systems. INNOCON’s developed and manufactured UAS are in service in the U.S., South America and Israel as well as in numerous Asian and African countries.
