The Schiebel CAMCOPTER S-100 will be the only UAS taking part in the daily flight displays (20th to 26th June) at the Paris Air Show. Flight imagery along with data from its onboard sensor will be transmitted in real time to the Air Show’s TV station.
In 2009 the CAMCOPTER S-100 became the first and only UAS to fly at the Paris Air Show. Due to the success of its previous flight displays, the UAS will again be the only one to fly at Le Bourget this year.
Because the audience is so close, safety requirements are extremely high and, besides the flight permission granted by the shows organizers, demand an EASA Permit to Fly. The Schiebel S-100 was developed entirely in compliance with manned aviation standards and requirements and so meets all preconditions for its participation in the Paris Air Show.
The unmanned helicopter has already demonstrated its reliable flight characteristics at international exhibitions worldwide, as most recently demonstrated during the IDEX show in Abu Dhabi, where it flew in civil airspace on a daily basis. The great trust in the unmatched capabilities of the S-100 was further shown at the G-20 summit in Seoul, where the Schiebel aircraft was the only UAS to be entrusted with providing airborne security support.
The CAMCOPTER S-100, with its maximum takeoff weight of 200 kg and an endurance of over six hours, is a fully autonomous reconnaissance platform suitable for use in both civil and military applications.
