The Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) claims to have shot down an American unmanned aircraft over the nuclear enrichment site of Fordo near the city of Qom.
Ali Aghazadeh Dafsari, a member of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Parliament told the local reporters that the air defence of IRGC has shot down the drone without revealing the date of the incident and produced no evidence to support the claim.
The official stated that the US aircraft was on a mission to identify the location of the Fordo nuclear enrichment plant and gather information about the nuclear facility for the CIA.
Iran had formerly announced shot down of two US unmanned aircraft in the Persian Gulf.
Last August Iran unveiled what it said was its first domestically built drone, the Karrar, a homemade copy of US drones. It said it had a range of 1,000km (620 miles) and could carry two 250-pound (115kg) bombs, or a precision bomb of 500 pounds.
