Meggitt’s venerable Banshee target drone is now available in a jet version which adds 80 knots to its top speed, up to 240 knots. Power is by a single JetCat motor, as used in radio controlled model aircraft and other applications including the jet-powered wearable wings developed by Swiss skydiver Yves Rossy, who has used the device to fly across the English Channel after jumping from an aircraft.
Jet Banshee features: hot nose, black body infrared enhancement; passive and active radar augmentation; infrared and radar countermeasures dispensers; acoustic and Doppler radar miss distance indicator scoring system; and low-level sea-skimming capability.
