The Navy-Industry International Dialogue (NIID) provides a Navy-Industry-Attaché-Foreign Procurement Group forum to address issues involving security cooperation and sea service concepts and programmes that help drive future capabilities for international maritime partnerships.
This conference will focus on Unmanned Aerial Systems management and capabilities. The Navy is unique among the US services in its acquisition of UAS; deploying systems ranging from small/tactical through high altitude/persistent aircraft, and everything in between — including shipboard systems designed for maritime use, and Vertical Take-off and landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (VTUAVs). Currently used in a number of military roles, including reconnaissance and attack, UAS are often preferred for missions that are too “dull, dirty or dangerous” for manned aircraft.
