Denmark has issued a tender for the selection of a mini unmanned air system, with the nation’s defence ministry seeking responses only from bidders with systems in operational service.
The tender has been issued to US manufacturer AeroVironment and Israel’s Elbit Systems, sources have revealed. Candidate systems are likely to include the former’s Puma or Raven systems and the latter’s Skylark.
An initial deal will cover the purchase of a limited number of systems, with a future procurement to be decided after the first batch has become operational.
