ICAO/CERG Warsaw Air Law Conference

The ICAO/CERG

Warsaw Air Law Conference will take place on 5-6 September 2012 at the Hilton Hotel in Warsaw, Poland. This conference, which is organized by the Civil Aviation Office of the Republic of Poland, will focus on the current and future problems related to the international legal framework in the field of aviation safety, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and aviation security.

The main aim of the meeting is to discuss current trends and directions of the development of safety regulations in the international civil aviation domain. For this reason, the drafting of a new Safety Management Annex to the Chicago Convention is going to be addressed in greater detail.

The conference programme also covers issues related to UAS, the tasks of the ANSP in this domain, as well as issues connected with insurance to protect citizens.

An ever expanding UAS market is yet to be regulated by law. Therefore, the current legal situation creates many practical and economic problems, which deserve careful examination. Additionally, due attention will also be given to ICAO legal work relating to aviation security, including legal issues relating to unruly passengers and ratification of the Beijing Convention and Protocol.

This event brings together some of the leading legal, technical and scientific experts from ICAO, the European Commission, EASA and top universities. The meeting will provide a platform for sharing good practice and exchanging ideas on aviation safety and security issues. Details concerning the conference can be found here.

Participants are kindly requested to complete the online registration form before 15 August 2012.

The conference is free of charge and will be conducted in English only. In case of any questions concerning this event, please contact the organizers at office@airlawconference.pl
