Swiss-based Unmanned Systems AG, the parent company of Unmanned Systems Group, and Swiss UAV AG have agreed on an immediate merger whereby UMS will acquire a qualified majority of SUAV, effectively taking control of the company.
Unmanned Systems Group and Swiss UAV fit especially well together as both companies have already a strong footprint in the UAV world. It is a fact that Swiss UAV avionic solutions and components belong to the high end and this quality matches the „Swissness” approach, targeted by the UMS management. Swiss UAV is already serving a group of high profile clients in Europe while Unmanned Systems Group focuses its business development efforts more in overseas regions.
With this transaction Unmanned Systems Group gains access to important know-how in its own ranks. The two merged companies will combine top of the range engineering, strong ready to market UAS products in the fixed wing (Discoverer & Discoverer 2) and rotary sector (S-350 NEO) as well as extended business development capabilities in various world regions, assisted by a profound offering of training and support solutions.
Peter Jeney, UMS Chairman cheers the new group as follows: „We are most certain that the new combined company will be recognized as an important force in the UAS world with its USP to offer both fixed wing and rotary systems in a non ITAR environment. The provision of appropriate avionics architecture is fundamental to the development of operationally relevant products that the current and future markets demand. The merger of SUAV and UMS group will completely and robustly close the gap on avionic expertise within our company.”
Karl-Friedrich Krause, Swiss UAV Chairman adds: “The range of components supplied by SUAV demonstrates the very best in class and combined with the expertise within UMS Engineering and Support/Training solutions will ensure our systems remain as the market leader for many years to come. The most complementary structure of the two companies is an ideal basis for a successful integration.”
The new group will be headquartered in Baar, Switzerland, with operational bases in Niederdorf-Switzerland and Linköping-Sweden. Sales offices in the UK and in South East Asia complete the regional group set up.
