Merrick & Company’s GeoSpatial Solutions (GSS) group has announced that it has purchased an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) to support surveying and mapping data collection projects in Mexico and Latin America.
Merrick purchased the RQ-84Z Areohawk from Hawkeye UAV. This new data acquisition platform will be based out of Merrick’s subsidiary, Merrick Advanced Photogrammetry of the Americas (MAPA) in Guadalajara and Mexico City, Mexico and will be used to support cadastral modernization, infrastructure, agriculture, transportation and energy clients throughout the region.
“We are looking forward to providing our clients in Latin America with such an affordable, high accuracy set of products with this state of the art system,” said Juan Carlos Sanchez, Vice President of MAPA.
“The UA system will be in Mexico early July and we will complete our first project later in the month,” added Brian Raber, CMS, GISP, GLS, President of MAPA.
