The CyberQuad has been acquired by the Melbourne fire brigade, not the Brisbane Fire Brigade. The news item was posted on the Brisbane Times website as part of the national news feed coming out of Melbourne.
Peter is correct, the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board of Melbourne have begun a 12 month trial of UAV. The MFB has two CyberQuad aircraft from Perth manufacturer Cyber Technology. Both are CyberQuad maxi’s, one with a HD camera and the 2nd with a standard definition/thermal imaging camera. The trial will be conducted using MFB firefighters trained to operate UAV’s and with a CASA approved Operating Certificate.
