The US government has blocked the export of cameras and laser pointers for the Turkish Karayel UAS, developed by Vestel.
The Turkish military hired Vestel to develop UAS in 2011 to start mass production in 2014. They were to carry equipment of WESCAM Solutions. The US government gave no permission to export the tools.
The government’s decision is motivated by Turkey’s plans to purchase Chinese anti-missile defences, experts say.
