(UMEX) has joined Solentus to perform support services required for the operation of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) research within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of Advanced Concepts & Technology Development.

UMEX will provide subject matter expertise and qualified UAS pilots (Predator A or Predator B pilots) with experience in air traffic control phraseology, typical aircraft behaviors, and mission operations. A series of simulations will be conducted at the NextGen Integration and Evaluation Capability (NIEC) laboratory at the Technical Center requiring UAS pilots to work as the Pilot in Command (PIC) in mission flights and complete test scenarios and provide responses to the scenarios (e.g., acceptability of control latency, level of workload, and timeliness of collision avoidance manoeuvre).

This initial phase of work under this agreement is expected to be complete in April 2015.

Solentus is a professional services firm offering solutions suitable for both commercial and government sectors. Solentus provides a full range of program and project management support, financial advisory services, systems engineering, software development, test and evaluation, and implementation.

Unmanned Experts LLC is an organization founded by experienced unmanned aircraft professionals and consultants for the purpose of providing advice, training and personnel to the rapidly expanding field of civil and public-use unmanned systems.
