has released an EFI engine upgrade for the Penguin B platform. The upgrade includes the addition of a temperature control system for the cylinder head, a silent muffler, a new fuel injector map as well as a new air intake assembly. The upgrade extends the operational limits of the engine, reduces fuel consumption and improves reliability of the system.
The Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) engine upgrade can be factory installed into the Penguin B unmanned platform. The EFI system maximizes performance, improves reliability and endurance of the Penguin B UAV. The EFI system comes standard with a motorized temperature control duct that allows operation of the engine at a wide temperature range. The flap controls the airflow around the cylinder head and maintains the optimum temperature value in cruise, climb or descend at low or high ambient temperatures. Special engine cooling duct design reduces the engine temperature when aircraft is static, therefore preventing the engine from overheating.
UAV Factory’s proprietary silent muffler is installed as standard and offers exceptionally low acoustic signature with industry leading 700 meter detectability distance.
The fuel injection system is factory calibrated for operation in a wide temperature range and high altitude. No manual engine tuning is necessary as opposed to carbureted engines. The EFI system has an automatic adjustment to prevent the engine from overheating as well as enrichment for easy starting at low ambient temperature. The EFI system is seamlessly integrated with Piccolo flight management systems.
The EFI engine offers higher power output than carbureted engine and yields shorter takeoff distance as well as improved climb performance. Key features are:
