has revealed details of its new Ka-175 vertical takeoff and landing reconnaissance and strike unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which could make its maiden flight within a year.Kamov’s general designer, Sergey Mikheyev, provided details on the Ka-175 at a conference titled ‘Breakthrough technologies in creating UAVs for the Russian Defence Ministry’.
According to Mikheyev, the detailed design documentation for the Ka-175 UAV is now prepared. “At present, we have the Ka-175 mock-up. Once an appropriate decision is taken, the UAV may take to the air within a year,” he said.
The Ka-175 system is being created for the Air Force, Navy, Army, and Main Intelligence Directorate (Glavnoye Razvedyvatelnoye Upravlenie, GRU).
