Russian company Vega is designing a new UAS of up to 200 kg for the Defence Ministry and is planning to get it built by 2016, the company’s official announced.
“The completion date is 2016. The craft will begin preliminary testing this year,” Arkady Syroyezhko, Vega Director for UAS, told ITAR-TASS.
Similar UAS are now used by the Army, but they are smaller. “The new one will weigh up to 200 kg and have a wing span of six meters. It can’t be moved around manually,” the official said.
