The drone pilot drama Good Kill just released an international trailer. Hit or miss sci-fi director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, In Time) is at the helm of this film that follows Hawke as a fighter pilot who has adapted with technology and become a drone pilot. However, the task of piloting a drone for 12 hours a day and carrying out targeted kills from thousands of miles away just doesn’t feel right for the Air Force veteran. It looks like we might get some provocative political commentary on drones, not unlike what Niccol delivered with Lord of War before.
Good Kill is written and directed by Andrew Niccol (In Time, Lord of War, Gattaca). A fighter-pilot turneddrone-pilot (Ethan Hawke), based in Las Vegas, fights the Taliban by remote control for twelve hours a day, then goes home to the suburbs and feuds with his wife and kids for the other twelve. But the pilot is starting to question the mission. Is he creating more terrorists than he’s killing? Is he fighting a war without end? One soldier’s tale with epic implications. January Jones, Bruce Greenwood, Zoe Kravitz and Jake Abel star in the film which IFC Films will distribute, but a United States release date has not been set.

People think its easy taking a life. It’s not. Doesn’t matter if your looking the enemy in the eye, in the air above or thousands of miles away. War takes its toll an all our combat veterans. What we as a country fail in is taking care of those heroes who put their lives and mental well being on the line to protect us from an evil that the average person refuses to comprehend.
