The Indian government said on Monday that the aviation regulator is in the process of developing an interim operations guideline for civil use of drones or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma told the Lok Sabha during question hour that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is in the process of developing an interim operations guideline for civil use of UAS.
“Till such regulations are issued, no non government agency, organisation or an individual will launch a UAS in Indian civil airspace for any purpose whatsoever,” the minister said in a written reply.
