Japan UAS Industrial Development Association Signs MoU with UVS International at Japan Drone

Japan Drone 2016, the first RPAS conference & exhibition in Japan, took place at the Markuhari Messe in Chiba (Tokyo), Japan on 24-26 March 2016.  This event was organized by the Japan UAS Industrial Development Association (JUIDA), Congress Corporation, Japan, and Space Media Japan Co., Ltd.


Japan Drone 2016 brought together 118 exhibitors from Japan, as well as Canada, China, Hong Kong, Israel, South Korea, Taiwan and the United States. The official ribbon-cutting opening ceremony of the event was conducted by Prof. Shanji Suzuki, President of JUIDA, together with other officials, and UVS International’s President, Peter van Blyenburgh.

Subsequent to the opening ceremony, the presidents of JUIDA and UVS International signed, in front of the press, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).  Under the terms of this agreement, the two associations formally pledge to explore avenues of mutually beneficial cooperation, on national and international level, relative to technological and industrial development projects, the application of technologies, the exchange of information (particularly in the field of regulatory matters and standards), and RPAS-related exhibitions & conferences.

After the signing of the MoU, a press conference was held.

JUIDA has also joined UVS International as a non-corporate member (partner organisation).
UVS International now federates 25 national associations and represents over 3000 companies & organisations.
