Detect Drones ? – Now There’s an App for That !

DeTect hs announced the release of the free public version of the DroneWatcher app that makes smartphones and tablets using the Android operating system into detectors for consumer drones and small unmanned aerial vehicles.

The DroneWatcher app detects, tracks, alerts and records information on 95% of commercially available drones using advanced signals intelligence technology developed by Panama City based DeTect. The app alerts the user when a drone is detected within ¼ to ½ mile recording the drone type and ID which can be used to document incursions and support apprehension and prosecution by local law enforcement if needed.

Combined with DeTect’s DroneWatcher RF and HARRIER Drone Surveillance Radar, the technology provides the most comprehensive level of drone protection and interdiction available on the market. The DroneWatcher app can be downloaded for free on Google Play™.

  1. What a joke. Catering to the paranoid never fails to find a market.
I may install it just to meet other drone operators near me.

  2. Im gonna download it so if SETI the drone watcher ever detects something I can freak the hell out :/Then go fly my drone by myself 🙁

  3. A bogus app. I installed it and every button I clicked on took me to a page to install some “clean sweep” app. I uninstalled it immediately. I don’t mind ads, but using this as a shill to get me to install some other piece of crap app is inexcusable.

  4. I installed it and noticed it never saw any drones in my area. I powered on my drone controller, then my drone, and the app never saw it running. Nice app, but did not see my Phantom 4. I uninstalled it as it did not seem to see anything around my neighborhood.

  5. It works but really unless you got invasion of ufos or have something to hide its just a waste of pace in your phone ,now if you feel you got some perverted creepers out there,or people f**king with you and you want to just their nasty ass then it’s the best waste of space for you paranoid drone watching fools. ….I’m one of those fools 😉

  6. The app is an odd one. I tried both the phone and tablet versions, and neither seemed to function as intended. The free aspect of it doesn’t seem to do anything. I’ve had drones flying within range, but the map never loads of detects the drones. The app gives you a constantly nagging pop-up box asking for you to pay $5 to upgrade to the pro version (where all the features could be used). I personally wish there were alternatives on the market.
