Tunisia is set to receive additional Insitu ScanEagle unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) under a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) deal revealed by the US government on 18 July.
The proposed sale, disclosed by the US Naval Air Systems Command on the Federal Business Opportunities website, is for one ScanEagle system, spares, support, and training. No timelines or further details were revealed.
The Tunisian Navy already operates an undisclosed number of ScanEagle UAVs in its coastal defence role (a system typically comprising multiple [upwards of 12 in some cases] air vehicles, as well as associated pneumatic launchers and Skyhook recovery apparatus).
