Polish defence industry conglomerate PGZ announced on 8 November that it had created a “centre of competence” for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at Military Aviation Works No. 2 (WZL 2), located in the northwestern town of Bydgoszcz.
According to a statement released by PGZ, the new centre will be involved in conducting research and development into UAV systems, designing, producing, and maintaining systems, as well as undertaking integration, modernisation, and modification of systems in service.
The facility will also act as a co-ordination centre for PGZ’s wider UAV efforts, which the company is hoping will expand out to include commercial unmanned systems.
