Drone World Expo has announced the addition of a special keynote address to be given by Michael Kratsios, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy U.S. Chief Technology Officer, The White House. The presentation will take place Tuesday, October 3, at 1:00 pm PDT, on the Drone World Expo Keynote Stage. Drone World Expo takes place October 3-4, 2017, at the San Jose Convention Center in Silicon Valley.
“The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy is the conduit to the innovation economy within the White House, and Michael is a true champion promoting the commercial drone industry’s interests within the federal government. His perspective is critical and we are so excited that he will be joining Drone World Expo to communicate how our industry can move commercial drone policy forward together with the government,” said Lisa Ellman, Co-Executive Director of the Commercial Drone Alliance.
“We are thrilled that Michael Kratsios will present what is sure to be an incredibly informative and forward-thinking keynote address at Drone World Expo and we welcome all DWE attendees to join us for this important session,” said Joelle Coretti, Vice President and Event Director, Drone World Expo. “We are honored that The White House will once again be represented at our event and provide a unique leadership perspective to our audience, comprised of all stakeholders in the commercial drone industry.”
According to news reports, the Trump Administration is considering how to expand drone use for purposes such as deliveries where aircraft would fly beyond the sight of an operator. Security issues need to be resolved, which are topics that will be addressed during the Drone World Expo education program. The FAA in March estimated that by 2021 the commercial drone fleet will increase tenfold to about 442,000.
