The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Tactical Technology Office (TTO) requests information on innovative technologies for countering adversary small unmanned air systems (sUAS). Based on the response to this RFI, an invitation to attend a one-day Technology Day may be extended to respondents with relevant sensing and/or neutralizing technology.
REQUESTED INFORMATION:
This RFI seeks to identify relatively mature scalable, modular, and affordable approaches to augment or complement the MFP systems currently under development.
DARPA is interested in novel technologies in two main thrust areas:
* Sensing – The ideal sensor system will detect numerous sUAS, at a distance of 1 km or greater, will have a small footprint compatible with tactical vehicles such as High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) and U.S. Coast Guard 25 ft. boat, and will support highly automated operations.
* Neutralization – the ideal neutralization system will disable or destroy numerous self-guided sUAS at a distance of 1 km or greater, while ensuring low collateral damage and low cost per engagement.
