Test flights have been conducted with the Anka unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) carrying electronic intelligence (ELINT) and a communication intelligence (COMINT) payload, the Undersecretariat for Turkish Defence Industries (SSM) tweeted on 24 March.
The UAV had previously only carried a synthetic aperture radar, weapons, and electro-optical systems.
SSM did not give any more details, but Turkey’s NTV news channel reported on 26 March that the new version is destined for the Turkish National Intelligence Agency (MIT).
