The world’s largest private leasing company, JetLease, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FLYING-CAM, the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) specialist and provider of aerial cinematography for blockbuster movies including James Bond, Harry Potter and Mission Impossible, to deliver a unique portfolio of leasing solutions to FLYING-CAM’s global customer base.
Katy Glynn, Vice President of JetLease, explains:
“This new agreement with FLYING-CAM is based on our desire to join with organisations that not only are leaders in their field, but also have an aspiration to disrupt the marketplace with concepts that will change the way the sector operates. At this year’s AUVSI XPONENTIAL event, we discussed the future of the unmanned market in terms of its growth potential, its need to support a diverse range of sectors incorporating military, maritime and civilian domains and the financial models which will need to be embraced to take it to the next level of growth.”
At this year’s event, FLYING-CAM demonstrated the latest version of its flagship platform, SARAH (Special Aerial Response Automatic Helicopter). SARAH is currently designed to fly up to 60 minutes on one charge, resist wind power of up to 80 km/h and carry multiple payloads of up to 10 kg. Powered by a 5kW electric engine, it has been field tested and optimised for reliability, safety and precision in a wide range of environmental conditions. The MoU with JetLease enables customers to take advantage of the new leasing options available with the FLYING CAM portfolio, including short and long-term UAV leases.
Emmanuel Previnaire, Founder and CEO of FLYING-CAM, says:
“We are excited to be working with JetLease. As a worldwide operator in the UAV sector, the provision of innovative financing options will support our expansion across the military, maritime and civilian domains.”
FLYING-CAM has a track record as a pioneer and innovator, scooping prestigious awards including two Oscars and just last month an Emmy for its innovative technologies. Proven in some of the most demanding environments, FLYING-CAM is able to deploy across a range of sectors from surveillance through to geo surveys with the best sensors available.
“At this year’s event, we demonstrated our portfolio of SARAH platforms including our newest entrant, DISCOVERY, which will be our largest one to date,” continues Previnaire. “Moving into a new weight category, the 25 kg to 100 kg space, we are targeting both public and private organisations who have a requirement for longer endurance rotary Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) platforms that have the ability to carry multiple payloads for activities such as border control, search and rescue and maritime surveillance.”
