the UK based drone solution provider, has announced that it has become the first CAA NQE to receive OFQUAL Level 4 Accreditation for its CAA PfCO Training Course.
The course, which trains drone operators to attain their Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO), is already approved by the Civil Aviation Authority and recognised as the pre-eminent learning programme for aspiring commercial drone operators in the UK. The OFQUAL standard is a vocational qualification recognised across the board by employers in many sectors, representing a standard between an A-level and a degree (ONC/HNC level).
The development represents another commitment from COPTRZ to the continued professional development of drone operators who are dedicated to building a successful drone business. For those looking past the basic PfCO course to the Level 5 and Level 6 Commercial Drone Operations certificates which are typically required for Chief Pilot and Head of Operations roles, the new qualification will enable exclusions from some of the foundation modules which are usually needed for these courses.
Steve Coulson, Managing Director at COPTRZ said:
“I am really pleased to be able to offer OFQUAL Accreditation to our CAA PfCO students as it brings a host of additional benefits to their future as a commercial drone pilot. For participants of the course it means the opportunity to enjoy better earning potential, all thanks to the achievement of a recognised and regulated qualification under OFQUAL.
It formalises the PfCO like never before and allows it to play a key part in the professional development of participants, sitting alongside other academic and vocational qualifications on their resume. In many cases, course participants might be able to attract grant funding to support their studies for the new OFQUAL-qualified PfCO course, with a positive impact on their cash flow.”
The OFQUAL accreditation comes into play immediately for upcoming COPTRZ CAA Courses and is also available for previous students as an add-on to their qualification.
To date, COPTRZ has successfully trained over 700 drone operators, as it continues to contribute to the rapid growth of commercial drone operations across a plethora of UK industries.
