Foundation Research Associates (FRA)
will host its first-ever Public Safety Technology Summit, a unique opportunity for public safety departments to bring their entire teams together in one setting to learn about critical technology updates and best practices at this dual conference event.
The Public Safety Technology Summit will take place Feb. 27-28, 2019 at The Mayfair at Coconut Grove. The event is designed for police and fire departments, transit police, port authority, border control, and EMS who work with drone or body-camera programs.
Ellen Wofford, managing director of FRA, said she is proud to bring to the market two public safety summits to the Mayfair and offer public safety professionals the highest-quality conference and networking experience in the industry. She encourages departments to send their entire teams to this unique event to “divide and conquer” and maximize their time and budgets.
The conference is the only event in the market to feature two concurrent summits that offer 14 advanced topics on body-worn camera (BWC) program improvement, sustainability, and advancement, and 14 critical topics on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), and counter drones. Sessions will include best practices to use BWC video as a training tool; how internal audits can improve programs; strategies to implement a new UAS program, and tips to identify funding opportunities and help cover operational and storage cost. Attendees will also have opportunities to network with leading professionals in the field to discuss best practices to maximize BWC and UAS programs.
“I am extremely excited about the content that we are offering in both conferences related to body-worn cameras and public safety UAS and counter drones,” said Tim Hart, FRA conference director. “The years of experience and knowledge within our speaking faculty is outstanding, and the educational experience and co-networking opportunities for our attendees at the Public Safety Technology Summit allows for teams will be tremendously beneficial for all public safety departments operating body-worn cameras or drones or are in the process of implementing either program.”
Lt. Dan Mark, City of Aurora, Aurora Police Department, will be the chair for the BWS Summit. Major Christian P. Quinn, commander, Cyber & Forensics Bureau, Fairfax County Police Department, will be the chair for the drone conference.
