Italy-based drone pilot Gianmarco Gabriele was filming a horse in full gallop, flying his drone around it, when the animal ran full-bore toward him.
Because he was flying a first-person view drone, or FPV, with a full headset and handheld radio controls, he didn’t see it coming. The horse bowled him over, knocking off his headset and sending the drone, pilotless, into the dirt a few yards away.
You can see what he was filming on the unhappy end here:

Any good photographer or videographer knows you MUST have a spotter for exactly this type of situation. When your are in first-person mode looking through the viewfinder of your camera or in this case your UAV, you are only aware of what you see through that viewfinder.
I hope that the only damage was to the operators pride.
An excellent example of why you MUST have a spotter when flying FPV.
Can it be illustrated any more explicitly than this?
