Founded in 2011 as a one-stop news service for busy executives, the first post to appear on UAS VISION was on the settlement of a legal dispute between the Government of Georgia and Israeli defense contractor Elbit. At that time there was no commercial UAS market so consequently all of our stories covered military solutions, research or regulations.
Readership grew steadily and for several years has been stable at around 50,000 unique visitors per month – albeit with a massive bump to 105,000 in February 2023 alone – all down to an earlier post about the ‘Warthog‘ which ‘went viral‘….but during the course of this year figures have been progressively increasing to 60,000, then to 70,000 and now in September 2024 to 100,000…!

While the core readership remains American, part of the growth is also due to an uptick in interest from the APAC countries and in particular Japan and India.
In parallel we set up a presence in the social media including YouTube. One of the earliest videos on our YouTube Channel about a Runaway Heron from the German Army ‘went viral‘ and now has over 100,000 views, but our favourite has to be ‘Drone Fishing in Australia‘ which now has nearly 5,000 views…
And a big shout out to our advertisers who have supported the publication throughout the years – in particular to Schiebel, who have been with us since the beginning – to long-time advertisers UAV Propulsion Tech, and more recently UAV Navigation and the SAE Media Group, all of whom have been smart to recognise the value of the exposure that they get both on the website and the Daily Newsletter.
