CENTUM Announces Next-Gen Lifeseeker SAR Technology

CENTUM launched the next generation of its Lifeseeker airborne phone location system at European Rotors 2024 in Amsterdam . The latest features and enhancements will make it easier and faster for Search and Rescue teams to find casualties in even the most challenging terrain.

Javier Chamorro, Executive President and Co-founder of CENTUM , said,

“Lifeseeker is already trusted by more than 35 Search and Rescue teams in 20 countries, who fly our technology on drones, in helicopters and in fixed wing aircraft. This new generation of Lifeseeker will make Search and Rescue even more accurate and faster and simpler for operators to use. I look forward to talking about it next week in Amsterdam.”

Lifeseeker’s geolocation and universal techniques have been upgraded to enable highly accurate and reliable target geolocation. This both speeds up the location process and enables SAR teams to locate people in the most challenging terrains, including the mountains, without requiring elevation maps. Combined with updated scanning algorithms, this improves efficiency and reduces search times.

The enhanced multichannel new generation Lifeseeker is designed to support all type of global networks (FDD and TDD bands), offering unparalleled adaptability to worldwide deployment scenarios. The systems can be deployed across various regions without concern for spectrum compatibility because it is Multichannel 5G (SA) compatible.

The Graphical User Interface (GUI) has been upgraded and redesigned to improve navigation and usability. This includes wizard-guided workflows, improved flight path visuals and easy switching between operation modes, enabling operators to put all their focus on locating the lost person.

Chamorro said,

“We are very clear that our job is to help SAR teams to rescue people as quickly and efficiently as possible. That is why we are fully committed to constant innovation, always looking for the latest technological developments to find new ways of enhancing Lifeseeker.”
