The Ukrainian defense-industrial complex presented a drone to intercept Russian “Shahed”. The relevant drone footage was shown in a video by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The drone was presented to the Belgian delegation, primarily to Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever, who arrived in Kyiv and was introduced to new developments of the Ukrainian defense industry.
According to the developers, the drone is actively used to intercept Russian “Shahed” and has destroyed more than 20 drones of this type in the past two months. It can also be used against smaller targets, in particular reconnaissance drones that conduct reconnaissance over the territory of Ukraine.
Although detailed tactical and technical characteristics remain unknown, the developers reported that the drone’s maximum speed is 200 km/h and the maximum flight altitude is 5 km.
According to them, this drone is currently the most successful Shahed interceptor in service with the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
It should be noted that Ukrainian specialists are actively working on creating cheap and highly productive drones, which should to some extent replace expensive anti-aircraft missiles when intercepting low-speed and small-sized targets.
