Russian Forces are Coating Drones with Toxic Substances

Ukrainian forces have reported that the Russian military is now using drones coated with a hazardous substance that can cause chemical burns. This tactic was confirmed by Yurii Fedorenko, the commander of the “Achilles” battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade.

According to Fedorenko, Russian forces are employing all available means to inflict harm on Ukrainian troops, which includes the recent shift from mining drones to treating them with dangerous chemicals. He emphasized that the Russia is not adhering to international warfare norms, utilizing methods that include white phosphorus and toxic substances.

“The enemy uses all weapons that can help him destroy Ukrainians. They do not follow any defined universal rules of warfare. Therefore, the enemy uses everything against us, except for nuclear weapons. This is white phosphorus, these are poisonous substances. This is, in particular, a new tactic used by the enemy. At first, the Russians mined their UAVs, now they treat them with additional chemicals. The goals of which are the maximum poisoning of our military, including chemical burns. That’s why the rules at the front are simple – don’t touch anything the eye catches your eye on.”

He reminded that Ukraine cannot use a number of means: poisonous substances, anti-personnel marking:

“As for Ukraine, our situation is somewhat different. We are signatories to a number of conventions. We ratified them within the state. Accordingly, it is necessary to build up capacities and efforts with the means by which we can work. In particular, unmanned systems today are an irreplaceable tool for reconnaissance of the enemy, its detection and highly effective, precise destruction.”

Fedorenko also called to join the “Achilles” group:

“At a later point, there is a collection for wings with artificial intelligence. They are expensive. They help to destroy, in particular, anti-aircraft means of the enemy, which interfere with the work of our drones. Thanks to drones with artificial intelligence, we have destroyed at the moment a significant number of the enemy’s most expensive assets, such as Tors, Armors, and Buks. And in order to increase the ability to hit the enemy as much as possible, we need additional wings with artificial intelligence. Therefore, we ask everyone who has the opportunity to go to social networks and definitely support us.”
