The UAS Nordic Conference (UNC 12) is the largest Nordic UAS conference and provides in a single day full overview of what is going on in unmanned flight. It will take place on 13th November 2012 in Oslo Congress Centre in Youngstorget, near the central communications and accommodation at Oslo S.
UAS (RPAS) Operation by the Public Authorities: Challenges and Opportunities.
In this section, we review the benefits and opportunities that are arising from the use of UAS in the public sector. It applies to military, police, border surveillance, search and rescue, use in the Arctic, etc. It will include the world’s oldest UAS supplier, AeroVironment (supplier of Raven to the military) sharing with us what applications they see for the use of UAS. This session will also include a presentation of the sensational new PD-100 Personal Reconnaissance System by Prox Dynamic, where all electronics weights only 3 gram out of a total weight of 16 gram! The system is in use in Afghanistan already. This session begins with a review of the EU strategy for UAS applications in the years ahead.
Small UAS (RPAS) and their use in the Civilian Market.
This is the fastest growing application of UAS in Norway, and here are reviewed the conditions for the commercial use of UAS, what’s new regulations in the past year, and examples of applications. We will hear of improved property sales using aerial photographs, but also other advanced techniques that expand the use of UAS platforms considerably, sometimes with simple means. A new Swedish company will display their latest products, and BVLOS Week 2013 will be announced and discussed. As the highlight of this session, the State-owned TV, NRK, will talk about their use of UAS when recording programmes like the Hurtigruten and Telemark Canal. All in all, UNC 12 will provide an update to the fastest growing area in aerospace for the time being.
Registration of participants will start at 08:30, and the conference ends at 5 PM
