An MQ-9 Reaper, was damaged during a routine training flight Tuesday at Cannon Air Force Base, according to the base’s public affairs office.
“An investigation has been initiated into the cause of the incident, which took place on the runway,” Marcelo Calero of Cannon public affairs stated in an email. “No other aircraft were involved.”
“Currently we have not received any reports of injuries nor damage sustained to property besides the (remotely piloted aircraft) involved,” the email stated.
No other details were available at press time.
Reapers are part of the 33rd Special Operations Squadron,which was activated at Cannon in July 2009.
