An Afghan engineer has developed different types of unmanned aerial vehicle – drone and another aircraft which can be flown by a pilot.The aircraft developed by Engineer Zmarai Helali are operated with fuel and electricity energy, and have been made by ordinary elements such as wood, clothes and electrical devices.

Eng. Helali says he was interested in aviation since he was a child and was motivated by his father who was a pilot in Ariana Afghan Airlines.

The drones are also equipped with cameras which can be used for surveillance purposes. The development work of the drones and the aircraft started around seven years ago.

According Eng. Helali, one of the drones carry up to 80 kg of loads which can be used to spray medcines on agricultural fields.

Eng. Helali says he expects the drones are further developed and can be used in a positive way.
