US Navy Awards Neany $20M Contract for Persistent Surveillance UAS

The US Navy has awarded North Eastern Aeronautical Company, Inc. (Neany) a $19,998,314 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the Persistent Surveillance Unmanned Aerial System (PSUAS).

The contract shall integrate with other surveillance systems, produce ground control shelters; and provide training support, theatre support, and persistent surveillance systems testing for the PSUAS project.

Work will be performed in Afghanistan (50 percent); Yuma Proving Grounds, Ariz. (30 percent); and Hollywood, Md. (20 percent). Work is expected to be completed in December 2011. Contract funds in the amount of $6,000,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to FAR 6.302-2. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, N.J., is the contracting activity (N68335-11-C-0147).
