Skydweller Completes Autonomous Solar-Powered Flight Test Campaign

Skydweller Aero has successfully completed the uncrewed autonomous flight test campaign of its Skydweller Unmanned Aerial System. Zephyr HAPS gets Design Organisation Approval from UK Civil Aviation Authority

AALTO HAPS Ltd., which designs, manufactures and operates the stratospheric, solar-powered Zephyr High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS), announced that it has secured its Design Organisation Approval (DOA) from the UK Civil Aviation Authority. This is the first DOA to be issued to a HAPS company in the UK, marking AALTO and the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s leadership in the development and regulation of HAPS technology. Continue reading

NTT DOCOMO and Space Compass Partner with Airbus on HAPS to Invest USD$100M in AALTO

A consortium of Japanese businesses led by NTT DOCOMO, Inc.  and Space Compass Corporation, together with Mizuho Bank Limited and the Development Bank of Japan Inc., has committed to invest USD$100m in AALTO HAPS Limited, which manufactures and operates the stratospheric, solar-powered Zephyr High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS). The investment will be made through the Japanese Consortium’s investment vehicle, HAPS JAPAN Corporation. Continue reading
