Ericsson, Qualcomm and Dronus Demo 5G Use Case with mmWave-Powered Drone at Ericsson USA 5G Smart Factory

The Ericsson USA 5G Smart Factory has begun a proof of concept with an autonomous, natively 5G mmWave connected drone to perform indoor missions within the Ericsson factory. Starting with autonomous inventory checks in the factory’s warehouse high racks, the drone’s indoor-optimized flight control, 5G connected Nest docking station, and live video streaming cameras enable a wide variety of sensing solutions using the Ericsson USA 5G Smart Factory’s fully on-premises 5G private network. uAvionix along with its partner R Cubed Engineering, has announced the AIMS Mk XIIB certification of the RT-2087/ZPX-1 (ZPX-1), the World’s first AIMS-certified Mode 5 Micro-IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) Combined Transponder Receiver (CTR) and the first ever Mode 5 CTR to be AIMS-certified when paired to the newly certified KIV-79. Twente Airport to Deploy Altitude Angel’s Approval Services Platform
