Drones Re-Charge on Power Lines in Denmark

Following several years of testing and development, the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) announced that it has developed a flying drone which can connect directly to high-voltage power lines and recharge its battery without having to return to base. Skydweller Gets $14M Defense Contract for Extreme-Endurance Solar Aircraft Systems

Skydweller U.S. Inc., a subsidiary of Skydweller Aero Inc., a U.S.-Spanish aerospace company developing solar-powered aircraft for defense and commercial industries, announced it has been awarded a $14 million contract with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), in conjunction with U.S. Navy, to advance and integrate technologies in support of Skydweller’s development of its extreme-endurance, solar-powered aircraft. H2FLY Sets Hydrogen-Electric Flight World Record

H2FLY, the Stuttgart-based developer of hydrogen fuel cell technologies for aircraft, announced that its demonstrator aircraft, the HY4, set what is believed to be a new world record last week for hydrogen-powered passenger aircraft, flying at an altitude of 7,230 feet and confirming the company’s position as one of the leading companies in this new sector.
