Hamburg’s U-Space Sandbox Becomes Blueprint for Drone Traffic

Droniq GmbH and its parent company DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH recently published their recommendations for action for the establishment of U-Space areas. The findings collected are based on a research project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV). FAA’s BVLOS Advisory and Rulemaking Committee Issues Final Report

The Federal Aviation Administration issued its Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC) report on March 10. The report sets the stage for the FAA to begin its process to publish a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that will significantly advance the uncrewed systems industry, including drones and advanced air mobility (AAM), while also maintaining the highest levels of aviation safety for all airspace users. IBAC Extends IS-BAO Helo Practices to Include RPAS

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of its International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO), the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) has released its first update to the standard in four years, including changes that better adapt to certain practices for helicopter operations. Elbit Systems’ Hermes Starliner UAS Gets Type Certificate in Israel

For the first time ever, the Civil Aviation Authority of the State of Israel (CAAI), that operates under the Israeli Ministry of Transport and Road Safety, has certified an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) for civil aviation, approving it to fly in civilian airspace as any other civilian airplane and not restricting its flight to non segregated airspace. FAA Reaches 1 M Airspace Authorizations for Drone Pilots

Last week, the Federal Aviation Administration issued its millionth airspace authorization for drone pilots to use busy airspace safely. The Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) automates the process for drone pilots to quickly gain authorization and provides Air Traffic professionals with awareness of where drones may be operating.
