HiDRON Stratospheric Glider Sets New Canadian Record of 111,400+ Feet

STRATODYNAMICS, in collaboration with UAVOS, have announced their latest successful record-setting stratospheric flight. The stratospheric glider named the HiDRON was released from a Canadian Space Agency scientific gondola at an altitude of 111,434 feet (33.9 km) and performed a four hour controlled flight and landed at Iroquois Falls Airport about 80 km from the Timmins, Ontario launch site. All-Directional Flying Object from Romania

The All-Directional Flying Object, or ADIFO, looks exactly like a stereotypical flying saucer. However, ADIFO’s creators say the inspiration for their uniquely shaped aircraft doesn’t come from UFO lore. University of Texas and Lockheed Martin Team on Unmanned Vehicle Project

A pair of University of Texas at Arlington researchers are teaming with Lockheed Martin Corp. to optimize how unmanned vehicles use sensors to gather information. Frank Lewis, the Moncrief-O’Donnell Chair and professor of electrical engineering, and Yan Wan, an associate professor of electrical engineering, are helping the company determine how to use sensors on vehicles that are underwater, on the ground and in the air to measure and predict the activities of a target.
