First UAS Graduates from the University of North Dakota

Among the nearly 1,500 students who received degrees from the University of North Dakota during spring commencement on Saturday were the first graduates in the nation with degrees in unmanned aircraft systems operations.

Arctic Earth Observation Summer Camp

This summer, 20 Master and PhD students can get a unique experience and learn about unmanned aerial systems. NAROM, the Norwegian Centre for Space-related Education, together with Andøya Rocket Range, Narvik University College, University of Tromsø, University of Bergen and NORUT host the first summer school about unmanned aerial systems with a technical approach at Andøya Rocket Range.

UK RAF “Non-Pilots and Pilots Equally Skilled to Fly UAS”

The UK Royal Air Force has completed a trial programme intended to assess the ability of non-pilots to fly UAS. Called Daedalus, the process “has successfully demonstrated that selection and training can generate remote pilots who, despite undergoing a different sort of training, are as highly trained and equally skilled as traditional pilots in that field”, the RAF says.
