NUAIR Alliance and Thales Join Forces on UTM Research

The Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance (NUAIR), a coalition of New York and Massachusetts aerospace and academic institutions has signed a multi-year collaboration agreement with Thales. The agreement supports NUAIR’s efforts to safely integrate unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) into traditional, controlled airspace and supports its ability to conduct operations at its New York UAS test site’s 50-mile UAS traffic management (UTM) corridor. Altiscope Releases Airbus’ UTM Roadmap

Altiscope, the Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) group from A³ by Airbus focused on enabling the future of aviation, has released Blueprint for the Sky: The Roadmap for the Safe Integration of Autonomous Aircraft. The Blueprint represents months of careful analysis by Airbus of the future needs for the airspace, the widespread impact of its forthcoming changes, and the development of the tools required for its enablement. NUAIR Alliance Partners with Unifly

The Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance (NUAIR Alliance) and Griffiss International Airport announced a new partnership with Unifly, a European company with a unique software application that enables unmanned traffic management (UTM) systems to visualize and manage drone traffic in the airspace. The partnership will provide enhanced unmanned traffic management capabilities for the NY UAS Test Site 50-mile UTM Corridor currently being constructed. Continue reading

University of Cincinnati UTM Project Ges $1M Funding

A University of Cincinnati project to develop a new management system for unmanned aircrafts secured nearly $1 million in federal grants last week. The Regional Unmanned Traffic Management System (RUTMS) was one of 33 projects submitted to the Ohio Federal Research Network, a state-funded organization that funds research and development initiatives at 11 Ohio colleges and universities.
