F/A-18 Demo at Farnborough Airshow 2014
The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine supersonic, all-weather carrier-capable multirole combat jet, designed as both a fighter and attack aircraft (F/A designation for Fighter/Attack). Designed by McDonnell Douglas and Northrop, the F/A-18 was derived from the latter’s YF-17 in the 1970s for use by the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The Hornet is also used by the air forces of several other nations. The U.S. Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, has used the Hornet since 1986. Continue reading
Eurofighter Typhoon at Farnborough 2014
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine, canard-delta wing, multirole fighter.The Typhoon was designed and is manufactured by a consortium of three companies; BAE Systems, Airbus Group and Alenia Aermacchi, who conduct the majority of affairs dealing with the project through a joint holding company, Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH, which was formed in 1986. The project is managed by the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency, which also acts as the prime customer. Continue reading

Near-Miss Between UAS and Helicopter in Miami
Helicopter pilot Paul Barth and his camera operator saw a brightly colored object in the South Florida sky with them just before sunrise. “I didn’t know what it was when I first saw it,” Barth said. Australians Develop ‘Projector Drone’
Melbourne-based company, I-Drone, has developed the ‘Projector Drone’ which is capable of beaming news, games and advertising over the walls of buildings. The proof of concept aircraft is able to fly for 12 minutes at a time, features its own on-board data storage and a 500 lumens projector. Continue reading
