Sikorsky Flies Rotor Blown Wing UAS in Helicopter and Airplane Modes

Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, has successfully validated the advanced control laws to successfully fly a ‘rotor blown wing’ uncrewed aerial system (UAS) in both helicopter and airplane modes. Powered by batteries, the 115 pounds (52kg) twin prop-rotor prototype has demonstrated operational stability and maneuverability across all flight regimes, and the potential to scale the unique vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) design to larger sizes requiring hybrid-electric propulsion. Edge Group Unveils HT-750 Rotary-Wing UAV at IDEX 2025

The United Arab Emirates’ Edge Group unveiled its unmanned helicopter HT-750 at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2025 held in Abu Dhabi from 17 to 21 February.The 1:1 scale model of the HT-750 displayed at IDEX 2025 featured an exoskeleton frame, a modular pod, and a tail boom that terminates in a ‘T-tail’ with a two-blade tail rotor system. AeroVironment Gets $181M Contract from Denmark for JUMP 20 Reconnaissance Drones

AeroVironment (AV), through its wholly owned subsidiary Arcturus UAV, has been awarded a contract by the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) with a contract ceiling value of $181 million to deliver the JUMP 20 medium uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) to the Danish Armed Forces.
